  • Welcome back for 2018!

Well the 2018 school year has commenced today. To our existing families, welcome back, and to our new families, welcome to our school. Today has been a great settling day, with lots of information, setting up and getting to know each other. We hope that everyone has had a great start to the school year. "Learning ignites hope"

  • Thank you to our volunteers

Our volunteers are such an important part of our school. Each year many parents, grandparents, extended family and friends give up their valuable time to assist the school. Those activities extend beyond the classroom, which is an invaluable assistance, but also includes attending excursions and working bees, helping in the canteen, library, or art room, going on camps, or helping through taking things home to do. It also includes those who are involved in the P&F or School Advisory Board. Without this, the school would find it difficult to provide the range of activities and events that currently occurs. To recognise the valuable contribution that is made, the school held a morning tea this morning (Monday 18th) in the community lounge to say thank you for what a wonderful contribution that these people make. If you would like to assist in some way at the school next year, please head to the Parents at School page, or head to the Induction page to ensure that you ready to help.

  • Carols by Candlelight

St Patrick's Primary School held its inaugural Carols by Candlelight on Thursday 14 December. It was a wonderful night of singing, dancing and just generally spending time together out of the classroom, and with our students' families. The night consisted of traditional and modern carols and also included a solo performance by 3 Blue student, Edie Marchant. Congratulations to all of our students who performed so well and entertained our families so beautifully. A big thank you to TNT for providing our "stage" on the back of one of their trucks. Thanks also to the Parents and Friends committee for providing popcorn and drinks for everyone to purchase with funds raised going to the St Vincent's de Paul Christmas appeal, which raised $416.45. Also a big thank you to our staff for attending and assisting on the night. Finally, a big thank you to our prep treachers, Sam Gauci, Sarah Benetti, Benita Munari and Erin Engel for organising and coordinating such a wonderful event that brought so many of our staff, students and families together all at once.

  • Sports Carnival

Congratulations to Chisholm on winning the annual St Patrick's School Sports Carnival. The house teams were placed as follows: First - Chisholm - 3729 points Second - McAuley - 3725 points Third - O'Rourke - 3619 points Fourth - Morrison - 3437 points With a very ordinary start to summer, it was great to see the sun out and our students participating in the various activities on the Assumption College oval today. It was also wonderful to see so many families coming along to watch their children, so thank you to all of the families that attended and to those that helped out as well. The children participated in lots of activities, including sprints, hurdles, bean bag races, soccer goal kicking, and more. Thank you Ms. Wendy McDonald for organising such a wonderful carnival and much appreciation to all the helpers for their assistance.

  • Playground Grand Opening

Yesterday, 15 November, our school came together to celebrate the official opening of the new school playground. Members of the Parents and Friends, School Advisory Board and Bendigo Bank joined our students, staff and families in opening the playground. St Patrick's would like to recognise the generous donations made by both the Bendigo Bank and our Parents and Friends Association to make this a reality. This is a strong testament to what can happen when our school groups work together in partnership, through the school, our families through the P&F and the community through Bendigo Bank. We hope that this project sees our existing and future students have a lot of fun for many years to come.

  • Remembrance Day

Today our whole school community came together in the courtyard to commemorate Remembrance Day and the celebration of the end of The Great War (World War I). Members of Kilmore RSL and Mitchell Shire Council joined our staff, students and families in the celebration and laying wreaths at our school shrine. Please take the time with your family to reflect tomorrow, at 11am, on the 11th day of the 11th month, on the sacrifices others have made and those who are still in war zones on our behalf.

  • School Uniform Survey

Considering some recent queries to the school and State government school amendments, we thought it was timely to conduct a survey regarding our current school uniform. This survey should take about 10 minutes and we would appreciate as many families participating as possible to ensure that we get a broad cross-section of views from our families. The survey can be found at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/3J62Q3Z and will be open until Friday 24th November.

  • Ditto visits Preps

Our Prep students have been learning about YES and NO feelings during their Health classes this term. This included learning about Ditto’s rules to help keep them safe and how their body might react if they were having unsure or ‘no’ feelings. To culminate this area of study, Ditto from the Bravehearts organisation visited all of the Prep students to help reinforce the messages of being able to say ‘NO’ and ‘Run and Tell’ if they have a no feeling. The performance engaged the students through singing, following actions and humour to reinforce the importance of Ditto's message.

  • Sacrament of Confirmation

Congratulations to our newly confirmed Year 6 students who received the sacrament of Confirmation and some a special blessing. Well done to all the children and their guests with your support for each other. Many thanks to our families for your prayers and to all the staff who assisted and supported the children in some way.
